The shutter button lock has been redesigned. The newer AE II and III finders are not fully compatible with the older ETR cameras, because there is a new electronic connector pin.

While mid-roll film format changes are not possible, end of roll changes are just as quick with additional inserts. The ETR-C released in 1977 is almost the same as the regular ETR, the only major difference is that the back is not removable, but uses film inserts. The camera is powered by a 6v PX28A battery with a battery check feature also available. This is because the mirror does not automatically return and has to move out of the way. Observe the cocking pin colour is green on the lens and body before attaching the lens. The lens cannot be removed or attached without cocking the shutter. The shutter cannot be cocked without film, but use of multi-exposure mode can cock and test fire the shutter. Unlike the older Bronica models, when the back is detached from the body the dark slide can still be removed from the film holder. The shutter cannot be released with the dark slide inserted. The camera will release the back when the dark slide is inserted and the release button on the body is pressed. The ETR series adopted some of the dark slide features of previous models. After the shutter is fired and a frame is exposed rotating the film advance lever one rotation resets the mirror, advances the film and cocks the shutter. Changeable holders make the system more flexible compared to the original M645. An interchangeable back system was incorporated that has the ability to use 120 or 220 (15 / 30 ) exposure film holders. Since it's a leaf shutter based camera, flash sync is available at all speeds. The mechanical setting does not consume any battery power. A mechanical shutter setting of 1/500 sec.

The ETR lens system has a Seiko manufactured electronic shutter with speed of 8 sec. Their main competing camera at the time was the Mamiya M645. After losing Nikon as a partner, Bronica initially tried to contract out manufacturing of lenses to Tōkyō Kōgaku, Carl Zeiss Jena and other companies, but decided to begin designing and producing their own optics. Their previous cameras used focal plane shutters, with Nikon manufacturing the optics. The ETR was released in 1976 and is Bronica's first leaf shutter based camera system. The Bronica ETR is a series of medium format 4.5×6 SLR film cameras made by Bronica.

Yes I know sony flashes can do HSS, but I am looking to use off camera strobes with the option of full power, instead of the reduced power that HSS offers.Īnyone have any knowledge or experience with this? I'm asking because I know Mamiya offered leaf shutter lenses as well as standard lenses and you would just have to adjust the in camera shutter to work with the leaf shutter by setting a slow shutter speed.Īlso Bronica lenses are relatively cheap as well. I wish I had the ability to use leaf shutter lenses with my DSLR sometimes to shoot at high sync speeds. I was just thinking, is it possible to adapt say a Bronica lens to a Sony DSLR, with an adaptor or modifying the lens mount?
